Target names new marketing chief

Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal - by Liz Riggs Staff Writer

Target Corp. has named Michael Francis to serve as its chief marketing officer, the company announced Wednesday.

Francis previously served as executive vice president of marketing for Target (NYSE: TGT). He will manage marketing for community relations, strategy and the Minneapolis-based retailer’s Web site, Target.com.

Francis serves on several boards, including the Walker Art Center and The Minneapolis Institute of Arts. He’s also a director at Minneapolis-based Piper Jaffray.
