UH receives grant for genomic device study

The University of Houston and four other schools will share in a $1.7 million grant from the Institute for Health Technology Studies.
The grant to UH of $398,000 over two years will study patients’ willingness to use and pay for genomic devices for tailoring prescription drugs.
Dr. Amalia Issa, associate professor and director of the program in personalized medicine at UH, will lead the study.
The other schools receiving grant money are Johns Hopkins University, Northwestern University, Medical College of Georgia, and Tufts University.
